|
*a messenger delivers a scroll of golden hued parchment, sealed with crimson wax embossed with the seal of The Paladins of the Virtues*
Dear Baron Mordegan,
It was a pleasure to finally meet and share some words with you, last eve. I would like to take you up on your gracious offer of further discourse to explore the advantages that The Paladins of the Virtues and The City of Sanctus might afford one another through closer ties. Hopefully we can find a time that would be mutually convenient for such a meeting. I look forward to your reply.
May the Virtues light your path,
Mia Stormcrow

Tatinana sat in her tiny office, the mounds of paperwork and letters laid neatly stacked in the baskets upon her desk. Slowly she went through each of them one by one.
"Hmm, another death threat, another request for help from a starving city." she spoke softly to herself as she placed the death threat into the trash and handed the request for help off to her little pet dragon to take to General Zarlox with her own note attached to send aid as quickly as possible. She grew tired as she continued to go through all the parchments.
"Ah well tomorrow is another day, tis time to rest." she spoke with a yawn.
The next morning Tatinana sat up next to her newly found love Baron Mordegan as he sat back down onto the bed next to her. She softly placed her chin onto his shoulder and began to read the letter he had received,
Dear Baron Mordegan,

She spoke softly to her love, "It would be quite beneficial to all the land if we did have them join forces with Sanctus. I am sure not only we would benefit from the extra paladins, but they would also Baron."
Tatinana watched her newly found love nod softly in agreement as he reached over grabbing a inkwell and a piece of parchment. He handed her the items and grabbed an empty tray and placed it onto the bed in front of her.
"Ah you wish it to be able to be read and not your 'chicken scratches' my love?" she giggled.
"Oh you...", he grinned.
M'lady Mia Stormcrow, Lady Paladin of the Paladins of the Virtues,
The benefits of your proposed ties between our forces wouldst surly be a welcome endeavor for both of our overly extended forces. We of the Sanctus Council wouldst like to have a meeting with thee and thy council when it is convenient for thee to make the long journey to our city. There will be provisions made for thy honorable escorts and thyself so that both thee and thy escorts can rest as our honored guests. Please inform us of thy intentions and the expected day you will arrive at our city so that we may have everything prepared for thy arrival.
May the virtues guide and protect us all,
Lady of Sanctus*, Tatinana Skyfire, Holy Paladin.
Major of Sanctus*,Baron Mordegan, Border Legion
Tatinana read the letter aloud to Baron.
"You do have a way with words m'love.", he said as he smiled and nodded slightly. Tatinana grabbed a nearby red candle and dripped the hot wax onto the folded parchment and pressed her seal into the quickly cooling wax. She handed it to Baron who called for a messenger. Tatinana stood before the messenger and softly placed her hand upon his forehead, "May the virtues bless and keep you safe on thy journey." she spoke softly as her hand glowed a soft warming white.
The messenger saluted them both and walked briskly down the hall. moments later she heard the pounding footfalls of a horse riding out at full speed... |
