Cat sat alone in the grass in front of what used to be the Garden. It couldn’t be true she thought to herself, it just couldn’t. She touched a small rock close to her leg and rolled it away. Her hands were covered in dust and scratches from digging into the rubble. The dust had covered her face and streaks of salty tears had run down her face. She turned when she heard someone walking through the grass. Scribble walked up and sat down beside her. Scribble asked her if she was finished digging and Cat nodded. Scribble put her arm around Cat’s shoulders and whispered to her that Poet was gone and it was time to accept it. Cat nodded but wouldn’t say the words. Rinoa walked to where they were and sat down.
Cat asked Scribble if she had a piece of parchment and something to write with. Scribble dug deep into her pack and handed the items to Cat. Cat sat in the dust and gravel writing and wiping her face as best she could. As the tears fell the words flowed from her pen.
The sun shines briefly on things that are great
And now I know that it's too late
To go back and correct any wrongs
But I know I've got to be strong.
This feeling inside me hurts so bad
And I'm tired of being so sad.
But now it's over
I aint ever gonna see you again
I always felt
We'd be together until the end
And now memories fill my head
And I try to sleep at night but I toss and turn in my bed.
So goodbye to your sweet soul
Your cute eyes
And you're loving hold.
I miss you
And I love you
And there is so much still left untold.
So I look to the future and what do I see?
It's only me.
I'll never forget you…you're loving eyes and face
But I'm moving on. I refuse to stay in this place.
But now it's over
I aint ever gonna see you again
I always felt
We'd be together until the end
And now memories fill my head
And I try to sleep at night but I toss and turn in my bed.
This is your goodbye song.
Goodbye…
Cat tried to wipe the tears from the parchment. She rolled it up and kissed it. She tossed the rolled parchment into the rubble that had once been a home to her. Scribble put her arm around her and they stood together with Rinoa saying goodbye to the Garden and to Silent Poet. _________________ 'I'll end with an edit to Ditto's post since she obviously doesn't grasp the man code.......................having your sister entertained by another gentleman gives you clearance to entertain their sister without retribution while taking care of mom leads to a blood fued which can only end in death" Gnarlug |

Having taken Cat back to her home, tucking her in bed with some cookies and wine, Scribble finally drags her weary bones up the stairs to her bright and cheerful room , feeling anything but that. Stripping out of the leather all covered in dust from the rubble of the Garden, dropping it to the floor and kicking it out of the way, she makes her way to the bath.
It was there in the bath that she broke down and cried. Scribble cried for Cat, for the lost Poet and for the Garden that was once full of such cheer. The sight of pile of stones had made Scribble so sad. Being strong for Cat and not breaking down in front of her had zapped every ounce of energy from Scribble's body.
With her head leaned back , her eyes closed, Scribble dozed off and started to dream. She dreamt of the preparations for the the re_grand opening after the Garden was burnt. The lauhter and commraderie as the spa was slowly filled, buckets carried by everyone, plants going here, there and everywhere.
The dreamed changed and the lounge was filled with blood. Poet was dieing he was loosing all of his blood. Scribble was making Cat clean her sewing kit in white thunder and close Poet's wounds while she worked with Tai to make a contraption to move blood from Cat's body to Poets with a scribe pen and a glass blowing pipe.
Feeling chilled by the thoughts of the dream and the coolness of the water Scribble wakens, tears dried on her cheek, rippled, waterlogged flesh on her hands and feet. Scribble rises from the tub, feeling the weight as she leaves the water seemingly heavier , moving as if the weight of the world were on her shoulders.
Without turning the sheets, Scribble crawls onto the bed. Poor Cat, she has endured so much, with that thought lingering, she drifts into heavy slumber. _________________ When they said to you at graduation, "Follow your dream, " did anybody say you have to wake up first?

As she watched Cat, Rinoa felt her heart sink. "How could this happen to such a cherished friend?" she thought. She sat down on the side of Cat, opposite of Scribble. She put her arm around Cat trying to ease any pain she could, but to no avail. A tear escaped her eye, cascading slowly down her cheek. Although her bond with Poet paled in comparrison to Cat, she felt a loss of her poppa bear, a name she once gave Poet. "Who would have thought that title would continue to exist?" she thought.
As they sat together, the three said their goobyes to what was once the Garden of Poet. Rinoas worries did not stop at Cat's sadness for the loss of Poet, but also of Cat's rescent dilema. "How could I have failed to protect her from the drow attack?" she questioned herself.
As evening approached, and Rinoa had left Cat after making sure she would be ok, Rinoa went home. There she and Aerie stayed up late talking about the events. Though Aerie had not known Cat as long, she still felt worried. For the first time in her life, Rinoa had trouble sleeping throughout the rest of the evening. Where was her Draven now? _________________ :bananhump: Put this in your signature if you think bananas need loving too... even if it is from behind.

Long after all had fallen into slumber, a shadowy figure passed amongst the former Minstrels.
In his path he left a book and a letter.
The letter stated:
"My dearest poppets. The time has come the dragon king has said, to speak of things like sealing wax and other kingdoms.
*obvious tear stain*
No more can I tarry here without my son. Each day I grow older and the memory of his face fades. I will not tolerate this. Long have you known that with this ruby heart of mine, I can store magical energies here.
If you have received this letter, I withdrew what I had been storing.
Please search the lands for Padruig, he is likely to be alone and afraid.
To Rinoa:
My dearest security consultant. Never was the time I felt unprotected with you at my back.
To Scribble:
My oldest friend. I am sorry that you could not accompany me on this last path. To you I leave a lifetime's worth of good fun and memories. I also designate you honorary tavern boss in any tavern built on my lands.
To Cat:
Weep not, for I shall remain forever in your heart.
The lyrics in the book:
There's no time for us,
There's no place for us,
What is this thing that builds oor dreams, yet slips away from us
Who wants ta' live forever,
Who wants ta' live forever?
There's no chance for us,
It's all decided for us,
This world has only one sweet moment set aside for us
Who wants to live forever,
Who dares to love forever,
Who wants to live forever,
When love must die
So touch my tears with your lips,
Touch my world with your fingertips
And we can have forever,
Forever is our today,
Who wants to live forever,
Forever is our today,
Who waits forever anyway?
