Vaen stood ontop of the Legion Stronghold, looking down towards the ground. The day had finally come. Many of the members seem to have disappeared, and the once powerful Legion was nothing more than a few men.
"I know we've made it through hard times before," Vaen said, "but it's not worth the struggle any more. Justice just... isn't worth it..." Vaen lowered his head as a single tear streamed down his cheek. He had worked hard for a long time at building the Legion. At times, it was phenomenal. Other times, disastrous. But all in all, it was something he'd never forget.
He took one last walk around what was once Legion Island and sighed. "What am I to do now?" He thought to himself. "I no longer have a strong following, but I still have my fighting abilities... Hrmm... Fighting abilities. Perhaps I could live as a mercenary. Quite a different take than Justice, but Justice did nothing but make my life hell... Yes, I think I shall try this Mercenary business."
On this, Vaen turned and walked back into the stronghold. He glanced around at the items that reminded him of the Legion. As he moved towards one to take it down, he shook his head. "This doesn't stand for Justice any longer, but rather the friends and family I made while traveling its path. Friends, and family. The only thing Justice has ever given me. For that, I'm thankful." |
