|
Cyrus woke to the sound of his breakfeast being brought in by a servant. He rose from his bed strecthing his arms high and yawning. He then stood and put on his robe and walked over to table and sat down and began to eat his meal. Half an hour later the servant returned to gather his tray and bring him news that the messengers had placed the flyers across the land like ordered. Cyrus dimissed the servant and then took a quill and some parchment paper and began to write...
Greetings to thee so called Regent of Britannia,
First allow me to introduce myself. I am Cyrus Crownguard. Leader of the Order of the Black Serpent. Known among my men as Lord of the Night. Now let me get to the point of this letter. I believe to find your rule and goverment very weak therefore I shall demand in the name of the people that you and your council step down and return the goverment to the people therefore they can elect a more suitable goverment for there needs. One that does not show weakness. One that give justice where justice is due. One that will serve all the people just not the rich Nobles as it seems the Regency only serves these days. I demand there be open elections or I shall be forced to declare war upon you and remove you from your postion by force. It is time for a new goverment. It is time for change. Also I demand that all REgency presence in Serpents Hold, Trammel be removed and the City returned to its right owners which I may concour would be my Order. We held the land long before the Regency was formed. It is not our fault we were nearly wiped out during the time of Mondain. If this demand is not met we shall use force to remove you if needed. Therefore be warned dear Regent if the list of our demands are not met within a months time we will march into Serpents Hold and declare war on the Regency. Now is the time for you to leave and step down peacefully if not done within a month war will come to the Regency and noble blood will be shed all over Britannia. Not even your blessed Virtues can protect you if this happens. The decision of peace or war is in your hands now is the time for you to decide.
singed: Cyrus Crownguard
*sealed with the emblem of a grey shield with a black serpent on it*
Cyrus read over his letter one last time and smiled abit. "This should shake things up abit I believe. Shall be very interesting to see there reply. I am sure they will think Im crazy but we shall see who is crazy in the end, Cyrus said to himself as he rolled the scroll up and placed it in a container. He then called for a messenger.
" Now lad do you know who the Regent of Britannia is?"
"yessss sir." said the the messenger abit nervously.
"Very well then take this messege to him and wait for a reply then return to me when one is given to you," Cyrus said as he handed the messenger the container.
The Messenger bowed his head and left the tent quickly. Cyrus then stood up and walked over to where he left his armour the night before and began to put his armour. " I believe I shall take a walk among the City this day. After all it is only right that those in Serpents Hold, Feluccia get to see there new Lord." Cyrus said to himself as he finished putting on his armour and walked outside the tent. Once outside he gave his General's order's to begin moving into to the City they would no longer be sleeping in tents. Cyrus then walked towards the City smiling and looking up into the sky. "Ah the game has just begun my dear Regent. I wonder what your first move will be." Cyrus thought to himself as he laugh out loud. |

Nazralte was still fuming at last nights verdict. He admitted to himself that he should have taken more action to make sure the case against Malorn was as solid as it could be. His thoughts of course turned to getting Malorn and making him pay, one way or another. He will just have to keep it quiet. It is hard to say if people would favor a leader who makes sure justice is served, even if a court finds a person not guilty, or not. Then of course there is the matter of Isk and his wife. The remarks they made last night were way out of line, even for him. The time is at hand to deal with that one..
His thoughts interrupted by a knock on his office door, he rose from his desk and opened the door.
"What is it?" Naz asked a bit too harshly.
"A messege for you, Sir." the boy answered and quickly added, "I was told to wait to deliver your response.
"Very well. Go outside and wait."
Reading over the letter, Nazralte's emotions went from the anger of last nights trial, to amusement from this upstart. Who does he think he is? Does he think he is a decendant of Blackthorne? Perhaps an evil Lord British? They must all come from the same hole in the ground.
*quickly starts to pen a reply before his laughter gets the best of him*
To the High and Mighty, Lord of the Night,
First let me congratulate on your infiltration of the Regency. It seems you had a great many fooled. You did well to trick people into thinking you were a follower of the Virtues.
After reading your letter however, it seems that you did not learn anything during your time with us. You claim that we only serve the Nobles. If you had payed attention, you would know that even though we Loyalists are a select few, and those select few decide on the Regent, we do not exsist for the people to serve us, we in fact, serve the people. Anyone and everyone may come to our meetings and ask for our help.
You seem to make a lot of demands for one who is still trying to recruit for his dark order. Instead of trying to answer each and every demand, I shall reply with one simple word.
No.
Lastly, do not think that you will not pay for what you did to Lady Lia last eve. I will not waste a trial on the likes of you. Just hope your head stays attached to your torso.
Signed, _________________
