Mallory was sitting upstairs getting the baskets filled for the evening crowd that always seemed to come after the Regency meeting. She was sure that even though the time and day had been changed, she could still expect a crowd. It would be good to have people here, to get her mind of hersel. She suddenly realized she had not seen Rryn in a while, and although she knew she had been training, it was not like her to stay away for so long. She hurried downstairs and quickly composed a note to her best friend.

Dear Rryn,
Hello my friend! I hope that this letter finds you well and in good spirits. I have missed seeing you at the Garden and hope that both you and Mister Tai will come by this evening after your meeting.

Rryn, you are much like a sister, and I do so miss our talks. I could very much use your guidance in times like these. My heart and my mind are in total disagreement and I do not know which to follow.

I have finished my studies with the healers of Moonglow, and I will be available to assist you with your wedding plans, if you still wish my assistance.

In Virtue and sisterhood,
Mallory

Slowly sliding her weary muscles into the hot bath. Rryn let out a sigh. She thought on the day before's events, the petals left at her feet. As much as Tai wanted to convince her he had dropped them accidently, she could see the concern in his eyes and feel his anger he tried so hard to contain. She came out of her reverie to a soft knock on the door.

"Hai?" she called out.
"Hakubo Rryn", her niece replied, "there is a letter just arrived for you."
She asked her niece to bring it in to her. She smiled as she saw the ribbon around the parchment. She has not spoken to Mallory in many days. Her niece stood there fidgetting and looking at the ribbon. Rryn smiled and removed the ribbon and handed it to her niece.
"You keep this ribbon safe and use it with care. It comes from a Lady that is my best friend." Her niece smiled delightedly, promising to honor it, and ran from the room barely closing the door in her excitement.

Rryn read the letter and frowned. Her sister of the heart was confused and heartbroken. Setting the parchment aside, careful to not get it wet, Rryn stepped out of the baths, dried quickly and dressed in a house gown. She went to her study, took out paper and wrote Mallory back.

Dearest Sister of the Heart,

I am sorry to hear you are in such turmoil. I will see you this eve at the Gardens and we shall talk together. I am here for you, as is my shoulder, as always. A wise woman once told me to follow my heart in life as in love. The mind can sometimes try to protect us from pain and is not always so wise in the ways of our hearts.
As to your assistance in the wedding plans..of course I shall want and need you. There is much to finish planning and I am sure Lady Ivae will also be pleased for any assistance she can attain as well. Due to recent events she is recovering from I am sure she also will appreciate the kindness.
I shall seek you this eve at the Garden after the Regency Meeting.
Til then, be positive in yourself and think on happy thoughts.

In Honor and Sisterhood,

Rryn Anyai

Rryn folded the paper and after several minutes it turned into a beautiful butterfly. Rryn smiled knowing this would cheer Mallory up. Taking it to the open window she blew softly on its wings and sent it sailing out into the morning sun.
