Tossing the tome across the room Dis paces back and forth like a caged beast. Agitated and wanting to kill she walks back and forth in the book lined library. Not since Lady Anna’s publication of the List, has she been so angered. That attempted to cleanse the world of her kin was stopped easily…but this......this corruption comes from within.

Her clan became the betrayers of the Kindred, tainted by one from within the ranks. Giving birth to a living child from the womb was an abomination. All knew this line was not to be crossed. Her own clan struggled with the animalistic need to breed and nurture, she has felt it herself but none has ever crossed the line. Something had to be done to return the dignity and purity to the clan.

Last night Dis had taken the first step, seeking out the Elders. Going into the very depths of the earth to find her brethren, she sent her familiars to the four corners of Sosaria. Disappointed yet relieved she was able to find another. Only one of her generation still remained within the realm. Wasting no time she quickly went in search of him.

Her pets had discovered that the one she sought had acquired a place among the followers of The Church of the Void. Rumors told her that he frequented the Hostel, a mortal establishment from time to time. Other followers of this so-called Church also visited the establishment, which could link her to the one she searched for. Preparing herself for an evening of discomfort she went to Malas. Upon entering the Hostel she was assaulted by the smell of human and other minor races. Holding a scented handkerchief tightly in her hand she would occasionally bring it to her nose to become refreshed as she waited. Over hearing mindless chatting regarding a slave’s punishment bored her as well as the comings and goings of the clientele. All were babbling about nonsensical things.

Her wait did not last long, a Joseph Frostmore entered and stationed himself close by. Remembering that he was a member of the Church her pets had told her of. Dis beckoned him into a private room and soon discovered that the one she searched for was near. The conversation dulled in her ears as she waited for his arrival. When the time finally arrived Dis rushed to her feet and bowed to her brother. His greeting was as heartfelt and with the quick dispatch of Joseph from the room they talked well into the night.

Now as she paces in her book-lined cage anger boils within her from the wait. The urge for more forward movement of her plans overwhelms her and patience has never been a strong trait of her clan. Going to the wall she tugs on the bell-cord. Lunging at the maid with unnatural speed when the hapless girl opens the library door . Tearing at her throat Dis buries her face into the pool of blood and flesh. Her talons gut the wench, opening the maid’s fleshy abdomen and allowing Dis to grasp the warm pulsating innards before they expire. Slowly the pair slips to the floor, as in a rehearsed dance move…the girl giving onto death with Dis leading her. Having her anger appeased Dis lifts upon knees and hovers over the dead girl growling loudly. The front of her gown, the top of her breasts, her slender neck and face drips of smeared blood and flesh. Slumping down to sit she lets go of her prey. Wiping her fingers over her stained chest she brings them up to lick clean.

“Thank you my dear, ye served me well,” Dis says to the cooling corpse that lays beside her in a twisted heap. As she preens herself a sense of calmness slowly takes hold making the anger subside….for now...
