All the goodbyes that had been said would have been unbareable if not for the surprise that soon followed.

Aneirin had been recalled back to his homeland. Eowyn still had her responsibilities in Britannia. She had also heard rumors of something of impending trouble in the land. So, Eowyn stayed. She and Aneirin also decided that it would be best for Cynan to return to Albion with his father. The young lad of four years was beginning to become more and more curious about the ways of the world. The bards in Albion would be able to teach him well and there was a master warrior teacher there who would be able to train him in the ways of the blade when he is older, if he wished, and yet, even more important, he would also be safe from the trouble brewing in Britannia. The goodbyes, however, were not nearly as easy as that decision. It was heart-wrenching for everybody, except for maybe Cynan, who was just excited to visit Albion again. Eowyn promised to visit when she could, then watched her husband, their son, and a pack horse, all vanish through the portal to that other land. Once the portal was closed, Eowyn mounted her llama, and took up the reins of her riding horse, and the pack horse who was carrying all her belongings, and started making her way to Govan's home, where Govan had insisted she stay. The house where Aneirin, Eowyn, and Cynan lived, would be put to good use, as it now belonged to a good friend of theirs, who needed a better home.

At Govan's home, Govan seemed happy to see Eowyn, yet sad at the same time. Eowyn related well. It seemed that Charis, thier beloved Elf friend, was also recalled to her homeland, wherever that may have been, and had to hurry away, with barely a "goodbye". Eowyn and Govan grieved together, yet both were all the more glad for the support they provided each other.

It wasn't even a day later when Aisling perked up at what seemed to be nothing. Peregrine, the small falcon who had been enjoying a good bit of rest since she had led Aisling to Govan, also perked up. Both flew out the window in quite a hurry without much of a peep. It was quite a long time until anything was heard from them. Aisling finally returned a while later, flying in and crying out something with extreme excitement. Eowyn looked at Govan questioningly. Govan had a half-confused, half-blank look. Govan shook her head, then looked at Eowyn.

"All she says is something along the lines of 'The twins are coming'."

Eowyn raised a brow.

"I haven't a clue either," Govan replied to the unspoken question.

They looked almost nothing alike. They were not even sisters, yet they grew up so close, that they became known as "the twins". They were born at the same time, grew up in the same area of the forest, and seemed to naturally bond closer than sisters, yet they were quite a bit different from each other. Scatha loved getting into things, getting her hands dirty, hunting, and picking little fights in good humor. Her dusty blonde hair also hinted at the niave, mischevious nature that lurked just beneath her surface. Fionnabhair was a quiet one. She like doing things from afar, not getting to close to the danger, yet the red in her strawberry-blonde hair gave a hint of a hidden temper beneath that quiet exterior. The two girls had travelled from where the reminants of Govan's people were. They had followed some clues that Dafyd gave them in his stories, before he passed on. At around twelve years old, the girls began to crave more adventure than what was at home. There was still a handful of their people left. It was said that one day, they would all join their Lady in that far land, but, for now, it was just the twins that would make the journey, being a couple of the older members of the group. The oldest people, being between 17 and 19 years old, would stay and watch the young ones, until fate said otherwise.

Scatha and Fionnabhair had long lost track of how long they had been on the ship, but they had spent at least 14 months travelling over land before they took passage on the ship, and it had been several weeks since the ship had survived the last storm. They were about to give up keeping track of time again when the crewman in the crow's nest called out, "LAND HO!!!" The girls scrambled from their quarters below deck, up onto the deck, to the railing to see that thing which they almost forgot... Land.

Several hours later found the two girls quite sunburned but still in marvelous spirit, having spent all that time watching the land grow closer and closer. They saw some land appearing behind the first land they saw, and realized that they were headed towards an island. From then until the gangplank was lowered at the docks of the far side of the island, the girls were crying out and dancing with joy, and singing some of their livelier folk songs. The water carried their voices well, as the sound drifted up the mainland's shore, where Aisling and Pere heard it and flew off to meet the girls. The singing, by then, was too quiet for Govan and Eowyn to hear. It would not have occured to them what the voices ment anyhow, so they remained confused for the moment.

After Aisling returned, the pheonix was attempting to explain through her excitement, but had to settle for a short, hardly sufficient, explination that the girls were of Govan's people. She was able to advise Govan to put on the Lady's crown, however. Govan looked around, out the windows, for a moment, making sure that there would not be anybody else dropping by, especially anybody who would have any ill will towards her or her people. Reassured, she took the Lady's crown from it's pillow, there in the Common Area, then took off the Princess' circlet and gently replaced it with the crown. The crown looked as if it had always belonged on Govan's brow. Govan carefully placed the circlet under the Lord's crown, then went down to the front porch and prepared for the twins' arrival.

"How much further?" Scatha asked, excited.

Pere screeched a bit and the twins just kept following. It really wasn't a long ways. The girls were just glad to be on solid ground again, excited to finally be near their destination and to finally be able to see their new Lady, in person.

The stories were true, Scatha and Fionnabhair discovered. Their Lady was almost a spitting image of her mother, down to the pointed ears and rich auburn hair. Her eyes mirrored her father's though. The golden, leafy crown suited her well.

"Welcome," Govan said. "Come on in. I'm sure your journey was long."

The twins bowed respectfully. Scatha then stepped forward to introduce Fionnabhair and herself.

"Hail, M'Lady. I am Scatha, and this is Fionnabhair. It is wonderful to finally meet you."

Govan bowed her head respectfully. "Scatha and Fennavahr, is it? Aisling has been attempting to tell me of you two, but her excitement has her rather fluttered. Please, come inside and we'll talk." Govan smiled warmly. "There is also stew on the stove if you are hungry."

With that, the three went in. Eowyn was still sitting in the Common Room and took the twins by surprise. Govan introduced Eowyn and explained that Eowyn was a friend and practically family. The twins had heard about Eowyn in Dafyd's stories, but she seemed quite different, and a bit more intimidating, somehow, than they imagined. They kept their distance anyways, and sat down on the benches near the fireplace. Govan got each of the twins a mug of stew and the four girls, Eowyn included, spend the rest of the day, and long into the night, sharing stories and catching up on everything that had gone on since the last bits of news.

The next day, after everybody had slept in nice and late, Govan helped care for the twins' sunburns, while they all discussed what Scatha and Fionnabhair were to do, now that they had arrived, as the skills needed in the land of Britannia were quite different than where the girls came from. Scatha took to the idea of being a warrior, but none of Eowyn's or Ainfean's weapons seemed to suit her. Eowyn took her down to the storage area, where she still had quite a bit of extra equipment. She looked through a crate, then pulled out a couple more weapons, and handed them to Scatha. They felt just right in Scatha's hands, so it ended up that Scatha would learn the way of maces. Eowyn handed her a large, white-covered book as well, so Scatha could also learn the ways of a Paladin. Fionnabhair took more to the ways of magery. Between Govan's experience practicing magery, and Eowyn's experience working with mages at training and facing mages in battle, they were able to advise Fionnabhair about what skills to train in. They then visited Kristen and were set up with some good armor. The next step was to get them guilded, which was taken care of in quick order, thanks to Ohowi Breakwind, the guildmaster of the Praetorian Citizen's Brigade. Afterwards, they got right down to their training. Fionnabhair stayed mostly to herself. Scatha trained under Ainfean, who they soon met, and Eowyn. Both of the twins seemed happy in the new lands, tackling new challenges, and Govan seemed a little happier knowing a few of her people, and being able to hear how the rest of the group was doing.
