“He hasn’t moved for hours” One of the sailors mused Isk’s appearance as the magnate sat on the steps leading down to the docks. Isk’s gaze was on the horizon in the distance as the first ship holding the Humanis Voice cargo made its way towards Yew. With his left arm rested on his left knee the porcelain masked magnate was hunched over with the chin of his mask in his right hand.
“Best leave him be, you never know what that one’s thinking” a rather rolly polly merchant responded to sailor as he packed more crates of the Voice on a ship which would head to both Trinsic and Serpent’s Hold. “Besides, not having to deal with him will make the loading of the ship much quicker”

The sky was filled with quickly shifting clouds of gray as the wind picked up along the coast of Magincia. It had been two hours since the ships departed with their cargo yet Isk remained motionless like a statue of a thinker propped on the dock’s steps. He could feel his bones and muscles ache in protest as his mind ran over the works of an unforgotten prophet “The man of virtue shall switch his skins, peeling off layer by layer until his form is shown. He shall be the poison but Britannia shall embrace him as the antidote. He shall shatter the forces of light loyal to lord British”
Breaking from his thoughts and arching his back to hear the all too satisfying crack of his spine Isk spoke conversationally to himself “The earlier prophecies of Airek have already come true.”
Standing up Isk peered to the clear waters beside him, the ripples showing a distorted reflection of the emotionless mask he wears. “But who is to betray us”
Turning in the direction of Trinsic the Magincian Magnate set his right hand on his hip as the increasing wind wrecked havoc on his silvery white mane of hair. “Could it be you Martin? Has your relationship with the snakes turned you into a viper yourself?”

Walking into his office with a dinner tray she finds it quiet and still. The candles burn low. He has been gone for some time it seems. She sets the tray down and looks out the window towards Magincia. Reaching for his spyglass, she searches the horizon of the sea for The Legacy. Isk and his ship are no where to be seen.

Angelique takes a seat at his desk and begins reading his original copy of this months issue of The Voice. He had showed her a few articles and given her a taste of the artwork a few days previous, but this was her first glimpse at the completed issue.

Holding it in her hands, her thoughts went back to the days before he knew her well when she would spend hours pouring over each issue. Turning the pages as she reads the articles and admires his artwork, the articles that are his words stand out to her. She turns a page and clutches at her heart. The portrait of Isk and Anankh bringing a flood of tears to her eyes. She struggles to read the words on the page as her her heart breaks. It is so hard for him to share personal pain, and yet here he has opened up a piece of himself to the realm.

Her fingertips run over and over the depiction of Isk and her son until the oils in skin starts to blur the image. The candles burn out with Angelique still lost in the memories of that night and the dark period that followed. She had never seen Isk in such pain before. A pain they shared.

She leaves the issue where she found it, taking up the tray of stone cold food and leaves his office. As she walks to their home she looks again, hopefully, to the sea. The sight of Isk's ship is not to brighten her eyes this night. Leaving the tray on the kitchen counter she slowly ascends the stairs. Her thoughts elsewhere, she stands before the window and slowly sinks into dance. When comfort is to be found no where else, for the gypsy, there is always the dance.
