Dawn was hours away. Night embraced the world with her cold, dark arms. She clung to every horizon nesting, aiding slumber along. Winter had spread undisturbed, leaving its claiming all that was blanketed in white. The sky was nay all but covered, the stars didn't pierce the canopy. Wind sighed through the trees and underbrush of the woods. It sang on every reed of grass carrying a melodious tune.
A familiar path is revealed by a single trail of foot prints. No sound did they make as the fell upon the snow. Direction nor start could be seen, the trail simply existed. The fresh powder swirled in the wind, yet didn't lay rest inside the prints. A vision emerged from the frosty dew, singing though no breath escaped her lips. It looked as though ice and cold lived upon her skin. She held her hand out before her, getting her fill of falling snow. No heat resided with in her as evidenced by the unmelted snow collecting in her hand.
The snow did not impede her mission. She trudged through, continually searching. Her eyes scanned the road ahead, searching every crevice. Her hands disturbed no land as she walked. They remained clean and unsoiled. She wore a gown of pure white, the moon itself was jealous of her brilliance and refused, like the stars to shine on her. Her hair was black strings of night itself swaying to and fro a top her her head. It looked as though her skin was never once kissed by the sun. Lapis Lazuli eyes gazed back at any that looked upon her face.
The spirit's voice called out in an unknown tune, but melodious just the same.
Quote: | Come little children, I'll take thee away |
“Child of mine, I call unto thee, the time has come to return to me”
Quote: | Into a land of enchantment |
“Visions' of magic, await you in your slumber”
Quote: | Come little children, the time's come to play |
“Return to me child, I call out your name, heed my call you are in need”
Quote: | Here in my garden of shadows |
“Return to me child, I call unto you, return to your mother”
Her voice resonated through the valleys, cadenced through the great oak branches and whistled along the the grass blades. An unseen force, felt only by those not yet of age Calling for any that would hear her for any who'd respond was surely her own. The specter was searching for what had been taken, long before due time. The babe must return home.
Her seach began this night as an irresistable siren call to a salor's ear. She was a mother calling the young, drawing them to her, leading them as blindly as the sailor who crashed upon the shore.

As she lay her head down , she heard a faint but strange and aluring singing. Jade raise her head up listen to the song closely . It made her feel relax but yet want to find who singing that. As she listen to it more she fell slowly into a trance. Jade lay there just listen to the lovely song , as she close her eyes it brought some strange unfamilar thoughts to her head and she start to hum along with the song as she listen to it in her head. As she drift off to sleep she mutter "yes I will come soon ". |

Gentle hands lured the child from her slumber. Lovingly they caressed her face, calling. Close, yet not entirely near. Slowly she opened her clear blue eyes with a smile.
It had been months since she felt a parent's touch, so warm, so secure. She yearned for more. Jocelyn sat up in her bed and focused on the surroundings. She stirred quietly as not to wake the others in the room with her. Bear's own son was laying in the opposite side. Jocelyn looked at him curiously, no movement did he make. Did Zuul feel the call like she did? At that very moment the little bear wanted nothing more than to be held by a mother. Much time had passed since the green lady Willow held her. Jocelyn held fast most of the time but tonight it was just do overwhelming. It had been tugging at her for weeks. Now that her studies were at a stand still she had nothing else to occupy her mind.
Jocelyn scooted and pressed her back against the wall. There were times that she felt her clan thought of her as nothing more than a fighter. Though her skills were formidable, especially for one so young, she yearned for company. She'd had so many passerby but not one constant, her parents were no exception. Dark as her past was, she still saw her future as incredibly bright. Soon her trials were to start. The seven year old was certain that she would have more a sense of self and purpose once she was a bear. What else was she to think? Her Uncle “Bear” speaks of nothing else during her training. Outside, the nightingale sang its love song to the moon. Jocelyn scampered over and looked out the window. The forest, basked in darkness, still could not hide the midnight caller from this young girl. Not twenty yards away she spotted the bird and sighed listening to it profess it's love as it often did night after night. She knew not the meaning but she knew that he meant it. Why else would he return night after night and sing the same song? Curiously, this love sick bird even paused to listen to the motherly caller as if hopeful that his pale mistress walked the earth at last to seek him out.
Before Jocelyn realized what she was doing, she was already descending out of the observatory window. Her landing wasn't quite perfect nor as silent as she would have liked. It was quiet just the same. Jocelyn felt certain that she didn't disturb anyone as she sought out what she so desperately craved. She trudged off into the snow, her foot prints quickly being erased by the new falling snow. |
