I am sorry but I have to bring this into perspective. I am going to "pop the big bubble" so to say...
1) Though Sanctus is currently inactive their stories, Histories, and Foundation are with Luna.... Being such a big part of the atlantic roleplaying community for so long, I would consider just giving away their city for one man to go out with a big bang... to be not so good for the community at large.
2) The plot line seems, somewhat "weak" though I am not trying to be rude... The plot line has left me with to many questions.... How does Inkari claim Luna from Sanctus... How can one man cause such a threat... What reasons do the "dark" guilds even have to help such a "crazy" person. Who claims Luna once Inkari dies?
3) Years and years of histories have been put together into Luna, From OES, OS, SG and many other guilds.... How would future histories reflect if Luna was randomly lost to a man whos memory is not even full there?
4) As Joanna Weaver mentioned the "dark" guilds out weigh the "light" guilds almost by double... How would we make it a fair fight when the numbers are almost 3 to 1?
5) What logical reasons do all the guilds have to assist Inkari? I mean this seems to me the beginning of a community wide war... Could one man have the power to create such a war?
6) now as mentioned before here is the big one.... Who gets Luna once Inkari is dead? I see large fights occuring IRL in the future.
These are just my opinions... I personally feel that though this is a unique and new idea, the bad is greater then the good..
sorry for spoiling it for everyone. |

You didn't spoil it for me, William. You point out the obvious.
Inkari was a brief king of Luna so long ago that even the dust on his throne has gathered dust.
The whole notion is indeed ridiculous. I am all for letting your char go out with a "bang", but why should we make it all about a character who disappeared long ago and returned "insane"? When I saw him in game a week ago, he was *confused*. How could he possibly lead an army, and how could he conceive a plan in that mental state?
What is wrong with letting your character go out realistically? He is insane.. he wanders into a pit where the bane army is camping and they slaughter him for interloping... You write a fabulous tale and go out in words with a bang. You are throwing Vaen's name up as an example, but that is similar to how he, Beo, and Mave all died. They went to fight off a demon army in some other land. All they had was a farewell party before they left.
Now that I have played the role of Devil's Advocate, I will be more constructive.
Does your character really have to die? Would you consider some sort of inactive stasis for him instead? Is he really no fun for you to play anymore? If he is still fun, are there alternative paths he might walk that lead to further character development, possibly even a return to rational thought? You said that his skills were "crap" but an alternative is role-playing it off as age. Inkari HAS been gone for a while, he isn't as young as he used to be. If you really don't want to play him anymore, you could say he is on a soul-searching mission and just stop logging on as him for a while until you are inspired to pick him up again.
I believe some time ago you mentioned a new character. Tell us more about him? What is his back story? Do you enjoy playing him? Will we see more of him in game? I look forward to role-playing with him in game. _________________ "Art and architecture must combine to create something larger than either." ~ Robert Campbell |

Here is what I think.
Don't Plan it out.
Get in game. Find people who are around. If no ones around get icqs and grab people.
Have fun.
Do it off the cuff, at any minute your a ticking time bomb, at any minute you may see the opportunity thru roleplay for your character to go.
See who responds to you, see whose around and just.. do what feels right.
This will be fun for you.
This will be fun for the people around you . They won't know.. You wont know.
It adds realism as Death is something we just dont see coming..
I mean consider maybe your character goes thru a life threatening experience, survives against all odds and then falls off a cliff.
Irony, FTW.
But most importantly, the death and the plot around it will be what you want, and about your character. What you are proposing to do with Luna sounds more like with so many involved the plot is going to become something else entirely. Not about your character.
But this is just my opinion,
I wish you luck! Perhaps we shall bump into each other in game, and I will knock you off a cliff. LOL Just teasing. _________________ May destiny guide you... |
