A letter arrives in Stonegate addressed to the Wolf King and Merci. The letter bears the seal of the Lord Regent of Yew.

"Your Majesty and Lady Merci,

It was a joy to see you both at the recent gathering in Magincia. I am pleased you both do well, and prosper, as does Stonegate.

Alas, due to the announcements that immediately intruded upon my invitation when I sat with you both at table, I do not believe you were able to hear it. Therefore, I am sending this letter as a more formal invitation to have dinner with me. If you have a rune to the Horn of the Unicorn tavern, then you have one to my home, as that very tavern is housed within it. The dining room is on the second floor.

If possible, might you attend the day of the Sun, around the time of the 8th star in the east? If this is not opportune, then please send word of what is best for you and I will arrange my schedule around that instead.

I will make sure the chef has prepared delicacies worthy of your palates, and vintage wine from the best of Yew's grape harvest. From thence we may discuss certain items that may be of benefit to both our lands.

I am looking forward to your correspondence.

Your Servant,

Thraxas
Lord Regent of Yew"

In the Wolf Kings office, a map hung upon the wall. She stared at it, her eyes drifting over the many landscapes her mind lost in thought. Her reverie was broken suddenly by the entrance of a proud white wolf one of the ancients that roamed these moutains. In his possesion he had a letter for both the King and Merci. She took the letter and knelt down next to the wolf, the creature moving to her as her arms encircled it. Thank you my friend. Silent, proud, wisdom in the old wolfs eyes as he turned leaving her there with letter in hand.

Interesting.. Days long ago had filled her mind when she had seen Thraxas last eve, curiousity naturally springing up within her.

Lord Regent,

I can not speak as of yet for the King but I foresee no problem with this meeting in our schedules for sunday eve. I shall be certain that he sees your invite. For now plan on it thus unless you hear differently.

Guardian Oracle of Stonegate,
Merci

Myrddin held the invitation in his hand as he replayed the events of the night before.

His discussion with Thraxas had indeed been brief.

Interestingly enough, it was Thraxas himself that pointed out the two hadn't spoken since the day they stood before the sandstone walls of Luna, moments before a great battle was to be won.

Perhaps it was more so this memory of Stonegate's history that distracted him for a few moments more.

Looking back to the letter, Myrddin finally picked up a quill to pen his response.

Lord Regent,

It has been some time since we spoke at length. Your invitation was indeed lost on me in the chaos of the festivities last eve.

The Oracle has left word with me that she will be available at the night and time you have specified, to which I am certainly agreeable.

I shall see you then.

-Myrddin ab'Arawn
Wolf King of Stonegate
