"Your Grace, Dearest Cousin,

I am greatly appreciative of your efforts on my behalf for this man, but he has departed my home. When I spoke of the Wolf King you mentioned, it resurrected many of his forgotten memories. He recalled his time in Malas as one of those who belonged to an empire there, perhaps even consisting of lycanthropes like himself. He realized he was one by choice and had to return. Although I had begun to love him, as I told you, I could not accept that aspect of his nature. I agreed it was best that he go and we part as friends. I am both saddened and pleased, oddly enough... saddened by the loss of what might have been, but pleased for the time we had together and the knowledge of the truth that he wished to be what he is; I could never accept that in anyone. Am I foolish to be this way? Am I too narrow-minded? Alas, it is all too much to consider now.

I would like to meet with you again soon. Word has it in Heartwood that the Tyrant has returned, and fear is that he will blame us for his abduction and confinement. He may even seek to return me to prison on some trumped up charge.
