Alrighty all, it's almost that time. The event starts at 9 for all spectators. If you are wishing to actually participate please meet at 8:30 at either Buc Docks, where we will gate you to Umbra to recieve the gear you will fight in. Or if you prefer simply show up at 8:30 at The Umbra Smithing shop.

Also if anyone wants a rulebook just ICQ me at 483-626-468 or pm me and and either Vryn or I will gladly meet up with you.

Questions, comments, concerns????? Same deal!!! Message me.

The way you guys have the fight set up looks like it would be a lot of fun to participate. I can't wait to see it.

Good luck at the event! I'll be in Maine. I wanted to go, and I'm sure it will be fun, but between UO and RL, we all know how that goes! Very Happy

Just very quick, as some of you may not really know the events or their rules.

We will hold a mass melee where participants are asked to show up weaponless and armorless. No crimsom cintures or artifacts along those lines. No jewelry. No regs. No bandages. No mounts or pets. We will have craftspeople taking armor orders at 830 EST at the Umbra smithy. They will be using iron ingots and barbed and horned leather. Once armored, the free-for-all will take place in the Necrmancers Arena and random regs, potions, bandages and weapons will be scattered around the arena floor in chests and boxes. Last man standing wins.

We will then hold a free for all joust...to the death. Combatants may only use Luna Lances, and may not switch up mid-fight. Steed killing is encouraged as this ain't no chilvarous event. To expediate the fight, there will be no healing allowed. Same armor rules for the mass melee apply here as well.

Both these events will be enhanced by crowd participation to increase the Chaotic nature of things. But that will be explained at the event itself.

The Main Event will be one on one, come as you like duels with different guilds sponsoring one of their own the represent them. No summons, no pets, no pre-casts. Every participant will fight every participant once in 5 minute fights. A win gives 2 points, a 5 minute draw gives both 1 point, and a loss is 0 points. Once everyone has fought everyone, the person with the most pints wins.

In addition we will have food, drink and general rp afoot, so come on out!

Apologies for last night. Erica (Shri) had a family emergency and had to drop out very suddenly. Among others things out of my control, it came down to alot of last minute scrambling and just being completely overwhelmed without my partner, and being unable to access alot of things we had gathered and set up.

Thanks for everyones patience and special thanks to everyone who helped out under duress.

Even though it didn't amount to what we had planned, I hope it was good for a few laughs.

When Erica returns, maybe we'll give it another shot...well not me, but maybe she will!

Sorry is was such a mess, and thanks again.

I thought the free for all in the beginning was creative, and I had fun making armor for people and then switching characters to heckle people once everything started Smile

I had a great time last night, we were really close to having everything fall apart. We managed though and thanks to Starfire, Vryn and Org for helping this not turn into a complete disaster. As far as next time, there definitely will be one. I really liked this event and thought that the idea behind it was perfect for this community. It was also really awesome to see pretty much the entire community there to take part. This absolutely showed that there is interest and it proved to be a good trial run.
A few things I'd like to see happen though next time:
1. Signups. There absolutely have to be signups for something on this scale. It would definitely cut down on wasted time getting people organized. This includes Melee, Joust and the Special Event. Of course, the organizers would be the only ones with a list of the Special Event fighters.
2. Since our guild is small, it may do us well to gather a few volunteers to help get everything set up.

Other than that, it was a blast last night, despite the problems.

I completely understand that putting on an event for the community is no easy task. I'm here Dray if you need help. =)

I have to add something here. First off to Vryn, You busted your butt before and during and after. I really can't thank you enough. It was crappy that I wasn't there to do my share when I should have been. Thank you so much for rolling with it like you always do.

That being said Vryn already knows why, and I won't go into details other than to say that real life has decided to intervene drastically. So it'll be awhile before I'm doing anything substantial again.

Thank you to all who showed up and all of you who helped. There was a lot of assistance from outside the guild this time also. And we won't forget it.
