The morning sun's rays danced across the sand of the jagged, rocky desert, casting long shadows from her body and highlighting the dips left in the sand where she tread. She closed her eyes and inhaled deeply as a breeze of wind blew past, stray strands of her vibrant blue hair catching the gust and shimmering in the morning light as they danced in the air. It had been countless years since she walked this path, and she intended to enjoy every moment of it. With her, she brought a loaf of freshly baked cinnamon bread. She was delighted to find out the Britain bakery still made it, she hadn't stolen a loaf of it since her sire enthralled her. She brought the bread to her mouth and sank her teeth into it, enjoying the rich flavors as she bit off a piece and chewed it. How many years had it been since she truly tasted anything other than blood?

Her unlife had been filled with painful event after painful event. How frustrating it was, to be able to control life and matter as freely as she could, she could create and have anything she wanted. But none the less, she found herself lonely, circumstance always pulling her friends away. It was common for vampires to float from project to project and drift out of contact with one another, normally it didn't bother her as there were always enough around for her to always have someone to talk to. However, now only three remained. For a moment, she mused at the irony that it was a Tremere that stole the one thing she valued from her, just as the Tremere elders stole blood of the Tzimisce to make their line. But it didn't matter anymore, the wretch had won. There was nothing left in that world for her.

The solution to the problem was simple. She had been miserable for the vast majority of the time since she died, so why not return to her old life? As a technomancer, she had several living clones of herself she kept around in stasis. Setting up a mechanism to fully control one was simple, she could live while her true body slept. And now, she had never felt more free. Since the body was controlled through technomancy, Oblivion's callings could not reach her. It was wonderful, to escape that which worked so hard to break her will.

She neared her destination, the sound of crashing waves filling the former silence. Just over the jagged rock hill was the lighthouse. Quickening her pace to a sprint, she reached the shoreline and looked out at the ocean. In the far distance, snow-capped mountains stuck out from the otherwise watery horizon. She hadn't been this close to the Kos Heb in years either. She decided before she left early in the morning, today would be a day dedicated to doing everything she could not do the day before. Satisfied, she turned and began the walk back to Papua. The day was young, and she had much to do.
