All I have to say is that it's kinda scary how attached at the hip we are. Merci and I litterally work on the same street, Redhill, completely by coincidence. I Would as an ISC (Internal Sales Support Coordinator) at a DME (Durable Medical Edquipment) Comany called VQ Orthocare. We provide braces, wraps, hot, cold and electro therapy. Basically we are an alternative to pt's having surgery as part of their rehabilitation or right after surgery to speed along the recovery.

My Part in all of that is I basically get to assist the sales reps. I have to know anything and everything about what goes on in the company or I have to know how to get the answer fast. It's amazing the random things people NEED RIGHT NOW!!! I enjoy my job as it's different everyday. Despite my grumbling I LOVE projects that require me to "clean up" and take care of certain reports that have been neglected for years.

My education however *sighs* is lacking. I attended college for a year, in NV. I moved in with my father to get to know his side of the family better as well as further my education, but after a year,I had a change of heart and decided that I missed my family and friends that I grew up with in CA. I don't regret my decision as I certainly cannot go back to change it. Hopefully in the future I will find the time and the monies to go back and finish what I started

Im Currently a Corporal in the Canadian Armed Forces, been Serving for five years now as a part of the Armored Core. It is honestly one of the funnest jobs I have ever had, though very demanding in physical fitness.

I have gone over seas already once doing a tour in afghanistan, I will be deploying again in the month of April 2010, for another 8 month Tour in Khandahar...

Ill be going over seas as a Gunner, in the leopard tank, Honestly cant wait to help my brothers out over there again.

Are you stationed in Ontario?

If so, are you at Pet, Bordin, or Gagetown? I assume Pet or Bordin..

hmmm..how to describe what I do....

I have a BS in CiS (Computer Information Systems) which is primarily a programming degree, so I have experience programming in alot of languages. I like programming more as a hobby though. I enjoy writing fun programs that do business processing and stuff. I love web-based programming so if any of you guilds would like a web design - let me know, I do them for fun...imagery in Photoshop too!

But - on to my work. I am a Sr. IS Analyst. My primary role is as a SME for several modules of our Oracle platform that include contracts, billing, installed base and most of the customizations included in those. I am the primary technical lead on development changes and I work closely with the business to get those changes designed and followed through all the way to release to PROD.

Wow, some real variety here I see. As far as Cal studying marketing....considering how well he markets himself here on ARPC you should succeed at that career man Very Happy
I've worked in the Environmental Science field since I was 17. I started at a company called Severn Trent Laboratories in my Junior year of HS as a lowly data entry technician. I worked there for 5 years and learned the ins and outs of a Environmental Chemistry lab. When I left I was one of the most well rounded Lab Technicians in the lab and I could fill any role in any department if the need arose. I left for higher pay and more options for advancement.
Throughout my 10 years in this career field, I've been trying to get a BS in Management Information Systems, to apply to the Analytical Laboratory. Thats moving along well, but right now I work for a smaller and more stable company called Environmental Testing Labs Inc. Generic I know. The nice thing is that my official title has gone from Laboratory Technician to Volatiles Analyst and I make alot more than I used to. I single handedly run 3 Gas Chromatography systems in my little room and to put it simply, I bubble helium through water and soil to find the volatile compounds in samples taken from monitoring wells around the region. I make sure the groundwater is clean. About half of my work is actually playing with methanol, water and syringes. The other half of my job is data processing and reporting voaltiles data to our clients.
ETL is small and my job security is definitely there. I make the company quite a bit of money as Volatiles is a high volume department as far as workload goes.

This job track has changed my perspective on environmental issues, has that effect when you see the amount of contamination out there in the country. Like my job, but hate my boss, who seems more and more willing to give me more and more work and my supervisor less and less.

If you wanna see what my little lab department looks like check this:
http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=978415&l=32684a44a9&id=507299880

Its not me on tanks or anything, but I think its a neat job. Wink
