|
Wisteria awoke from restless slumber, her mind turmoiled with a bit of madness. Climbing down the steps of their abode, Wisty walked towards the sandy beach that resided outside their front door. The Moon shown thru the thick jungle of Fire Island and the night was warm and balmy. Sweat trickled down her neck as her white chemise swayed with the breeze of the ocean. Her spirit had grown restless
A large white dragon circled in the sky landing near her the ground shaking from his massive form. Icefire what brings you to me my noble friend... It was Wistys respect for his race that lead him to visit her, to fight by her side. Many years ago the dragon had found her lost and wondering, and sensing something different about her, he had granted her mercy...
The dragon bowed his head nudging her to turn and she stared out over the ocean, the clouds in the sky taking on the shape of a Phoenix. She spoke softly...From the ashes we rise, forever and ever we cycle with life..
What can I do? Here lay I with the harbingers of the end of nature, and yet I almost wish for its rebirth, its purity and lack of corruption... She spoke no words but the dragon heard it and comfort swelled upon her soothing to her troubled mind. Yet her heart would not let the thought go.
Corruption, it was cried out from the land about her, the air above her, the water before her. Meanwhile she could hear the crackle and laugh as fire sparked within the depths of fire islands volcanoes, corruption destruction..
A vision arose of a city far away and she knew that this was her destination. I dont know what part i play or why I must go, or if I will even be of help. Yet, sleep shall not return to me till I find that which makes this concern within me. I feel angst and worry growing like a thick poison cloud upon living creatures, and it chokes and strangles..
She heard Icefire say to her sternly within her mind...Go now druid..for that mark is still upon you.
The dragon’s icy breath ran over her spine as he spoke, and it chilled her to the bone. Dutifully she turned knowing the dragon spoke the truth and headed towards the keep to gather her things and leave word.
I will start my journey at one of the thriving hearts of humanity, I will head for Britain... |
