*An ornate calling card arrives on the throne of the Umbran Matriarch decorated in a very intricate vine-pattern, where a flower-bud would rest on the vines there instead rests an emotionless human face. The note is written in the increasingly and oddly informal and less grandiose manner the Lich Lord's manner of speech is recognized as.*

Dearest, Most Radiant Matriarch,

I believe that providence allowed my absence from Umbra to allow you to bring your efforts full circle. Both you and I had much to accomplish to further our own individual shall we say efforts for the greater good of the people of this rancid little plane we stand exiled on. It is my most sincere hope that dearest Kale, apple of my eye, radiant diamond in the rough that is the corrupted forest was spared any undue harm that may leave her removed from the living. I shall be in this evening to discuss several objects of interest with you, I have left you ample time I think, as requested to do what it was you sought to do.

I must express in advance my remorse, I was forced to kill one of your own. Audrina Thormear. It seems she in some way blamed me, as a result of the rantings of her now dead husband for vanishing of some child named "Brainlin" or "Braeleen", I'm sure I shall never spell these new exotic names correctly. In any event, it was merely an act of defense, you may have her body, in relative good condition I may add, for whatever sort of burial rites or rituals are customary to your people, I shall also offer you another soldier to take her place from my own followers should you so wish it. Of course it would have been much easier to simply omit the fate of this woman to you, but as always, in efforts for a more forthcoming and mutually beneficial relationship of disclosure and trust this surely sad truth is presented for your consideration and the consideration of your most loyal and noble followers.

Until tonight then.

Your Most Trusted and Illuminating Friend,
Darrien Church

*The same ornate calling card is left at the inn, where the lich lord is reputed to be currently residing. Upon the reverse of the card a response is written, in not so elegant writing, but writing that conveys the author just wished to respond quickly and to the point, in quick strokes and slashes*

Dearest, Most Dreaded Lich Lord,

Your concern is greatly appreciated.
*here the flow of the handwriting pauses, as if the author was considering how to continue* While your absence was conjunct with my return, it was not necessary to exact it.

My daughter, Kale, is in astonishingly good health, physically. Her mind seems to have undergone some developments, though for good or bad, who can say for certain at this time? I am sure she will appreciate hearing your concern.

On the subject of Audrina Thormear, you will find I have mixed feelings. Often was she brash and headstrong, and did ignore my advice a couple of times in certain matters. However, that does not negate the fact that she was still Umbran, and you still are the cause of her demise. Umbrans do not take lightly to the killing of our own. That you honestly admit it can be taken either as guilty admission or boasting. As her husband, Beowulf Thormear, has also recently,
*here, too, the handwriting seems disjointed, as if the author was searching for the right word* expired, I shall leave it to the next of kin, Tay Thormear, their son, to seek his peace with you.

Until tonight, then.

Your most beloved and welcoming friend,
