A wisp delivers a blue scroll and a small present sealed in ice to the Matriarch's throne. The scroll reads:

I apologize for the long silence we have only just reached our destination there were great difficulties unseen on the way. Yet that is a story for another day. Many of those that traveled with us that were of human stock did not survive tho, our core group has arrived alive and well. Yet then only the strong survive..

We begin building now, we will have to hire miners in order to properly craft the stone keep which is our first task. It is bitterly cold here, and a good deal of the sun does not touch this side of the mountains. I am thankful. Mal is not so fond of the weather but persists, he is far to cranky for it to have any real affect on him.

Willow is her ussual self and keeps my spirits lifted. Myrddin well, he is your son he is driven and constantly busy rarely sleeping till exhaustion claims him.

There is something sweet to be said for laying your own hands to stone and working the land around you but, I will stick to ice.. Crafters are few here I fear we may have to send Malikhia out again to hire more.

On a completely different note, News has hit my ears that you are in fact engaged to be wed. I have not met this Lord Arakad but I am thrilled that happiness such as this comes to you. I wish to stand by you when you wed if you would grant me the date and time, even as a spectator I should like to be there.

If there is anything we can do to help or if Umbra needs anything dont hesitate to send word you know as always I will be right there. Tho I am sure all thrives well with you at the lead again my Matriarch.

It is good to hear word of Myrddin's doings in the north. I have been wondering these past weeks of how the trek went. I suppose it is too late to claim any motherly sentiment for my son, though it is there, whether he likes it or not.

Thank you for the ice dragon charm, I shall keep it out of harm's way. I did not realize you were such an artist, I would have had you sculpting long ago for the hall.

As for news of my engagement, it has not yet been announced. I am not a young girl and those ideas of that type of happiness do not come to me very easily or quickly. At the least, my companion is someone who will not die of old age, nor cry as we sacrifice lives to the night. I feel it will be a quirk of fate if it actually takes place at all, as karma and I have never seen eye to eye. My sentiments seem to reflect those of a pessimist, but in truth, it is simply reality. Though, time will tell, as it always does.
