The Castle Britannia, in a dimly lit bedroom a figure stirs gently rising prayer before a small ivory Ankh and a portrait of an aged King, illuminated by two modest flickering candles, his body a little thinner, and his face a little more drawn due to the recent sickness.. he coughs, gently wincing from the horrible pains wracking his body. He had done well these past months hiding his illness from the Loyalists and Allies, but no doubt the recent strain caused to his heart and mind with the Daemonic assault on Moonglow had taken it’s toll…

Making his way to a desk covered in papers and documents he sat gently and began to write:

My dearest friends,

I wish to humbly thank you for your prayers, well wishes and gifts during my sickness, they were as I laid in what was assumed to be my death-bed a great consolation to me.

While I have largely healed, and have assumed my office here at Castle Britannia, I wish to share with you some thoughts that have moved my heart this last month.

I have spent my short life attending to the external world, matters of politics, state, and governance, blessed have I been to be raised amid riches, and born a noble of a proud people. But I have found in all these, I have seldom tended to my soul.

That being said, in the week following the Britannian Embertide celebration, I will have much of my personal wealth and property divided up, to be given to all the poor of Loyalist and Allied cities aside from what books and materials I required to act in my capacity as Governor-Regent.

I shall take up residence in the upper-bedroom of Blackthorne Castle, while opening up Castle Britannia itself to public use in all matters.

In Virtue I remain you servant,

Adrien Garnier
Governor-Regent of Britannia
