Merrique paid the messenger well for the simple task of delivering her letter to the Sepulcher. However, she paid the gargoyle in the forest nearby even better.

Dearest Dark Mothers,

I have entered into an endeavor which has paid off well. I acquired the house in which our son was born and have renovated it nicely.

As I buried the placenta at the base of the mountain beside this property, it is now a sacred place to me and I hope, therefore, of some import to the people of Umbra.

It is my hope that somehow this place can be of some service to our Umbran brethren. A place of rest, a place of hiding, a place available for special--or secret--events.

Please let me know if my humble offering is of any use to Umbra. As I await a reply, I remain

Yours in Darkness,

Merrique

Merri,

My apologies, Lady, I had meant to come very soon to see your child and check on thee. Sadly my duties have overtaken me. However I am most interested to see your new abode and to see your new son.

Please let me know when you are available to meet. I will be about this eve or next send word to me.

Merci

Lady Merrique,

Don't be ridiculous!
