Long story short my PC tanked so I rebuilt. I have a duel-core Asus [sp] board, and XP home, will home support both of my cores, or just one? _________________

XP Home only supports one core/cpu. Having a PC with two separate CPUS i found that out the hard way.
To refresh my memory, i looked it up on the internet. XP Home only supports one Processor.

XP home supports one physical socket (meaning one physical CPU, the amount of cores within that CPU are irrelevant). So if you have a single dual core processor within your system, XP Home will support both cores.
If you have a server board or a dual socket board with 2 physical CPU's, only XP Pro will support it.
In summary, yes you can use XP home as long as you are using a single physical processor, regardless of how many cores it has. _________________ "There are those who dream to escape reality, and there are those who dream to change it." |

Like I said, I did have two separate CPUs, a server board. So that is my one and only experience with XP Home. _________________ "Always speak the Truth even if it leads to your death." - Lord Godfrey |
