With his first born child sitting on his lap Isk flipped through the pages of the Humanis Voice. While his left hand shook on the table Isk traced the fingers of his right hand over the many pictures and words that adorned the publication. His daughter smiled as she rested motionlessly, her neck supported by a gorget gave her a stiff doll like appearance as her ice blue eyes took in the information. Arella, now entering her late teens had the silvery white hair of her father combined with the soft femininity of her mother. She was his favourite child though he would never admit it to the others.
“A labour of love” Isk stated with a broken voice. “By now copies of it should be arriving at every city.”
He paused as he closed the propaganda paper, brushing aside a small stack of cards that had come from it he tilted his head back and closed his eyes. If there was one thing in the world that he deserved this night it was rest.
“Time to sleep, Arella” He whispered as he pressed her head to his chest. “Tomorrow we see how popular my work is”
