[Ryu Hamabuyashi]

Ryu had seen her many times before, around the realms, in many cities, in his dreams.....They had known each other it seemed for an eternity, yet, nothing ever came of it....They spoke in passing, sharing pleasantries, a quick wink and a smile, but still...nothing ever came of it.....She came to him in his dreams, as vivid as it could be in real life...He could see her...a vision in crimson, the armor hugging her every curve, her lips, a ruby red, her hair, as dark as the darkest night....Her eyes, one could get lost in them...They were truly a window into her soul.....


Ryu awoke, sitting straight up in his bed...He looked around his room, his candles, flickered lightly in the night breeze of the Trinsic jungle. He rose walking slowly over to the window, his snow white hair blowing gently in the breeze. He thought of the dream he just had....."I must find her.", he thought to himself. He had not felt this way of another in quite sometime, but, he did not know quite how to handle it. The only way was to find her, and see what path destiny would lead him to.


He had been hunting all day in the depths of Destard, the wondrous but dangerous land of Ilshenar, and even hunted down the dreaded changeling Travesty with his guild brothers and sisters. The sun had just set, and he made a stop in Moonglow to deposit his valubles and gold into the bank, when....a presence, one the stopped him cold in his tracks, began to appear....it was HER.....He looked at her and smiled softly.


"Hello, it indeed has been awhile since we last saw each other." "Oui, it has.", she replied. They embraced, and her touch, the way she felt against him, was magical. They caught up on old times and shared a few laughs, and time seemed to fly by. She had to depart, but Ryu was not going to let her slip away, not again...."I would love to see you again, and spend some time with you, just you and I." With that he held her hand and gently and lightly kissed it, his lips lingering. She lightly giggled and said "You are quite the charming one, do you expect me to fall for a mere kiss of my hand?" "Of course not, you have known me for a while, and I know it will take more than that to prove myself worthy." "Well then, you are a rare one indeed!", she replied. "I must be off, it is getting late." "Of course, I understand." he said sadly. She softly touched his cheek with her hand, and he closed his eyes, feeling her warmth touch his heart, and flow througout his body..his soul....


"I hope to see you again, I look forward to it." he said smiling at her, his gaze never leaving hers. "I know and am sure you will." she replied, her dark hair softly blowing in the wind, the moonlight highlighting her curvy sillouhette, the way he rememberd her. He watched her ride away, she stopped, and turned to face him. She smiled at him softly, warmly, and chanted the magical words to whisk her away......."Kal Ort Por".......

A bit parched from riding and shopping, Roxxy rode toward the city of Moonglow in hopes of finding refreshment. She smiled as she thought of her last few visits there. Moonglow was becoming one of her favorite places. The attraction of some well stocked merchants in the scenic woodlands nearby was one reason. In addition, Roxxy found she was never disappointed by the scenery within the city limits. Not only did she appreciate the landscaping of manicured hedges and beautiful flowers, but also it seemed there were always fine specimens of the male gender roaming the city. As she neared the city gates, she could see that this tarriance would be no exception.

Feeling overladen with the treasures she had acquired, Roxxy slowly rode up to the bank to unload the items. Approaching the site, she noticed a familiar face. His appearance was striking as always – well dressed, chiseled features, piercing eyes. She greeted him with a friendly hug, noticing he held her a bit longer than usual. They exchanged pleasantries and chatted for a while. He leaned in close, and Roxxy found herself enchanted with his low, smooth voice. As they talked, she thought she caught him gazing at her a little too long. She studied his face, his eyes, and then she saw it…that look…a look of longing. Surprised, she bade him farewell. He asked to see her again, and gently took her hand. He kissed it softly, deliberately, warmly. He reminded her of one she had favored some time ago, but a younger version. She laughed lightly, making a glib remark to hide her surprise at the attention he was showering on her. Again, she told him goodnight as she caressed his cheek with her fingertips.

“Quite the charmer,” Roxxy whispered to herself as she rode away. She stopped, turned to look upon him once more, and then chanted the magical words to transport her to the inn.

A couple of days had passed since he last saw her, her scent, her gentle touch, it lingered with him......He truly looked forward to seeing her again, and it could not come soon enough for him.....He thought of a gift to give her once he saw her again and he wondered out loud, "What could it be?" He wracked his brain for something suitable, but then, it came to him. "A rose!", he thought to himself...Something to remind him of her clothing, her deep red lips, her intoxicating fragrance..."Yes, that will do." With that, he summoned his hawk with a message. "My friend.", he stated, "When I finish this, find her, and be sure that she pens a response." He began to write:

My dearest Roxxy,

I would love for you to meet me at the Lycaeum, from there, I would love to show you a wonderful evening! I truly look forward to and await your response!

"That should do it, now off you go my friend." He released his hawk to find her. In the meantime, he began to ready himself for a wonderful evening. It had been soo long since he had been in the presence of one whom he has been smitten with, and he wanted to make sure he looked at his best. He carefully groomed himself neatly, dressing himself in his finest black silk. He was nervous, but he hoped she truly would love to spend more time with him, and see that his intentions were indeed noble.


He made his way to his rooftop zen garden and began to meditate. No sooner than he began, his hawk arrived with a response. He smiled and quickly began to read:

My dearest Ryu,

I will meet you in front of the Lycaeum, give me few extra moments, as I have business to finish, please forgive my tardiness!!

He smiled and gathered his belongings for the trip. He thought to himself: "This night I will long remember." He called for his charger, mounted it, and chanted the words to recall to Moonglow. He arrived at the Lycaeum, waiting patiently for her appearance. He paced a few steps nervously back and forth, and all of a sudden, there she was....The vision of beauty he longed for, to see her, to feel her presence. "Good evening, my dear!", he stated. She smiled and greeted him in return. "Where will we be going this evening?", she asked. "I will show you, come my dear.", he stated. He placed his runebook in front of her, and told her to chant the words to recall. She did so, and he appeared right behind her as they reached their destination.


"Do you like it?", Ryu asked. "Oui, it is amazing!", she said. "I have heard of this place, but I have never been here." It was a perfectly clear romantic night, stars filled to heavens, and they seemed to go forever. "What does this do, and how do we work it?", Roxxy asked. "That, indeed is a good question!", he replied with a slight chuckle. He thought of asking the astronomer, but he was busy enough himself, so Ryu decided to depart the knowledge he had gathered from his teachings. He walked to her and gently took her hand. "My dear, look at the heavens." As she looked, he wrapped his arms around her and whispered into her ear. "You know, they say there are great warriors and animals in the heavens." "Ohh?", she replied. "Yes, they are called constellations, and they have many names." He began to explain some and what they meant, all the while, she quietly pulled away and began to walk forward. She turned back to face him and walked toward him, their eyes meeting, his gaze, never leaving hers. He tried to explain even more, but his words could not find their way out.....He was hopelessly lost in her gaze....She lightly touched his face, sending waves of passion through his body. She leaned forward, and kissed him gently, tenderly. Her touch, he needed it, he wanted it more....She pushed away gently with a slight giggle and made her way around the machine.

"You know, we have yet to find out how this works.", she said. Ryu chuckled lightly. "Yes, you are right, we have not." He watched her as she looked thoroughly at the machine, touching knobs and pulling levers. He thought to himself: "She is so beautiful, just look at her." She turned and smiled as he finished that thought. "Are you not going to try?", she said. "Yes, I will try.", he said. He started approach her and then he remembered the rose. " I have something for you." He gently pulled out the rose and gave it to her. "Ohh!", "I love roses, how did you know?", she said excitedly. "I just thought of you, how you left an impression on me, and the rose fit you perfectly.", Ryu said. She smiled and sniffed the rose gently, looking at Ryu with a warm smile. He approached her slowly, leaned in and whispered: "I have enjoyed my evening with you, and I look forward to many more." He slightly turned his head and kissed her cheek gently, then very lightly and tenderly kissed her very soft, ruby red lips, lingering for a slight moment. She gently pulled away, and said: "Ryu, it is getting late, I must go." Ryu nodded slowly, "Yes, it is indeed late, and I understand my dear." They embraced, and he did not want to let her go, but he did, in anticipation of more time and romantic nights spent together. "Until we meet again.", Ryu said. "Oui, and we will meet again.", she said. She mounted her steed and began to ride away, at the last moment, she turned to him, smiled warmly, and chanted the all too familiar words to whisk her away.......

“Please stand still,” warned the tailor. Being fitted for costumes was one of her least favorite things to do, but it was a necessary evil. Roxxy loathed just standing, and she felt like a pincushion. She inquired impatiently, “How much longer?”

From the corner of her eye she saw a hawk swoop in through the open doorway. She watched it circle the room and land on a nearby dress form. As Roxxy stepped over to retrieve the message on the bird’s leg, the tailor inadvertently stuck her in the leg with a pin. Roxxy’s eyes flashed as she shot an angry look at the seamstress. Instinctively she raised her hand toward the woman and began to utter a spell. Roxxy suddenly stopped short, composed herself quickly, and forced a pleasant smile to the woman. She then turned her attention back to the bird. A mischievous smirk emerged as she read the message from Ryu.

“So… he wants to see me again.” She laughed lightly, wondering what had taken him so long to send the invitation. She folded the parchment and tossed it into her satchel. Roxxy took her place before the tailor again, and began to consider the invitation. Ryu had always been a friend, quick with the compliment and warm smile. It might be interesting to see what dalliances and distractions this fellow could offer. When the seamstress finished her work, Roxxy took writing tools from her bag, penned a short response, and sent it to Ryu on his own hawk.

Roxxy made her way to the Lyceum to meet as they had planned. She took her time, letting him wait. She could see that the timing of her arrival had been impeccable. The eagerness on his face told it all. He was made to wait just long enough to appreciate her arrival more than she had expected. He had dressed for the occasion as well, donning a fine suit of black silk. He appeared quite impressive, and she smiled knowing he had gone to the trouble for her. They soon were magically whisked away to the destination he had chosen.

They arrived at the foot of a huge telescope. An astronomer was working nearby, but Roxxy disregarded him, choosing to focus on flirtation with Ryu. Her movements - fluid and predictably feminine. Her voice – soft and tender. Ryu’s gaze followed her as she explored the instrument. She brushed past him, lingering long enough for him to catch a whiff of her perfume. As she paused a moment beside the controls, Ryu took the opportunity to slip his arms around her waist. He pulled her close and began an intellectual discourse of the stars. However impressive his knowledge of the stars might be, these were not the words she was anticipating to hear. She pulled away from him, noticing he had lost his train of thought as she did. He stumbled over his words as she walked away. She smiled coyly, turning to gaze at him. “Time to up the ante,” she thought as she sauntered over to him. Placing a hand on his arm, she pressed against him, kissing him tenderly. She felt his body tense, and she pulled away trying to hide the pleasure she felt in escalating his interest. His eyes followed her as she again explored the telescope. He then approached Roxxy and presented her with a beautiful, delicate rose. He leaned close, speaking quietly, sweetly. He then began kissing Roxxy. She found herself enjoying his advances. But then, an odd feeling engulfed her. She pulled away, making an excuse to leave. She mounted her horse and turned to look at Ryu. She almost felt guilty for toying with him so. He appeared very sincere. This odd feeling…was she developing a… a… conscience?
