We have one main hurdle right now.
Everyone is very quick to point out the need to put differences aside.
However, no one has actually shown a willingness to do so. _________________ ~Lord Talon Skyfire

Okay, I would be willing to put aside my feelings about that sodding drunken oafish prat named Silent Poet.*
I have admitted I have made mistakes, and while some of you may not know it or believe me when I say it, but I have spent a lot of time in the last few months working on a sort of 12 step program.
I have gone to people I know have issues with me and apologized for things that happened.
Hell, I even apologized to Burfoot about the time I accidentally killed him with a blade spirit because Galathan suggested I do it. Summon it, not kill Burfoot.
There are those that think I will not or have not changed. There is nothing I can do other than continue to show them by my actions that I am sincere that I would like to see this as a stepping point to clean the slate.
I do not expect most of you who have issues with me to do the same, but I am willing to set the example by admitting I have made mistakes and that my actions, inactions, or even "supposed" actions have caused harm. Believe it or not that was not always the intention.
I also think that if you speak with some of the people I have interacted with recently, that they would say I am not the angry sodding git I used to be.
This might need to be split off from the proposal as I do not want to derail the thread.
* For those that do not know, I play Silent Poet, and I feel as he is my character I can call him pretty much a bunghole. _________________ "He's been fired from the Shrimp Boat?" -- Charlaine Harris "Living Dead In Dallas." |

I think it would be beneficial if the man who is wanting to put aside differences would remove the link from his signature.
There are a lot of us that wish that things could go back to 2-3 years ago, but there have been things said and done that seem to only be being ignored. Unfortunately, Talon, no matter how many times things are swept under a rug, they have a nasty habit of coming back up.
I am not saying I am innocent in all of this. Lord knows I have a temper and I am very loyal to those I call my friends. I know my mouth has a tendancy to run before my brain catches up, and usually it isn't a pretty thing. I have been very hurt by those that I at one time considered friends. I have been told I need a thicker skin, that I need to grow up, etc. And maybe that is all true, but what I think this community is severly lacking is respect and the ability to accept the consequences of actions. Again, I am not innocent and I will never claim to be. However, I am able to admit my faults and accept the consequenses of them.
I thought we were all adults in this community, and yet I sometimes feel like I went back in time to high school with the he said/ she said/ you can't be friends with them bull crap. I am willing to listen and to see where things go, but there are some things that I will never forgive, especially when there has been no apologies made, only more threats and hostilities. As much as everyone may not believe it, I still enjoy UO very much. I have played this game for 7 years or more, and I have been on Atlantic 5 of those years. I have had a longer friendship/ relationship with some of you longer than anyone else, other than my husband and parents. For some it might be easy to toss in the towel and quit and move on, but unfortunately that isn't me. There are people in this community that I have been friends with, that have heard about my children being born and growing up. There are people that I have heard about their children being born and growing up and getting married. That to me is more than a game, it is friendship. Heck, I don't even hear when my friends from high school or college get married and have kids, yet I know who is getting married, who is graduating, who is having kids in this community. There are more people in this community that I would love to meet IRL then there are friends from high school that I would want to see again.
I am sorry if this is off topic, but open communication is what will be beneficial to the community, not the sweeping of things under the rug. If you want to move this, lock this, bonfire this, it is up to you. Talon, I personally am willing to put differences aside, but differences aren't threats, lies and rumors. Those are things that can not be tolerated or ignored if you honestly want this community to come back together as a whole. _________________ Ken: I don't put anything in my mouth I don't intend on swallowing...

Honestly I don't understand why everyone posts about needing to forget past greivences. I did it myself and then literally a day later EVERYONE who responding saying "You're 100% right" started flaming each other with flow charts.
You know how you let things go guys and girls? BY LETTING THEM GO. No one needs to kiss and make up, everyone just needs to approach everyone else with an open mind. If you hate Talon and your friends hate Talon, do what I do... talk in guild chat and make fun of him (j/k). There is NO NEED for these OOC issues to effect us ICly, the only reason they do is because we let them and that makes us a bad roleplaying community (when I say this I mean BOTH ARPC and FAR, not either or).
So my words of wisdom? Smarten up people and get your heads out of your butts and start enjoying the game rather then plotting ways to piss the people you hate off. _________________

If I have said or done anything to piss people off I appologize. My intentions have always been to try and keep the community together at least for IC if not work though OOC crap. Sometimes I just plain get frustrated and lash out at one side or both being caught in the middle is not easy. When I do I end up looking like I don't know which side, to side with and that is the whole point. I won't take sides and I will always constantly keep trying to mend that fence. *thinks next time she will use black rock*
I love this game and the people in it. Poor Will, I bend his ear every night about how frustrated I am with the bickering and down right meanness of some of the people that play on both sides. I am waiting to wake up one day and see a note on the pillow saying he left to join factions IRL where he could lead a less stressed life. Though I don't think his boss at the Grocery store where he works would understand the Deli Clerk using a samorai sword to slice the beef. Nice lady but I don't think she would have that in her 'how to deal with employee quirks handbook'. _________________ Grand Duchess Molly Kaldhel

What does she know...Her husband has so much security just in the floors of the house that noone heavier than the dog (mind you it is a toy poodle size dog) can walk on the floors without setting off the alarm but I will be certain to take a picture so she will feel more at ease knowing that she was right. *laughs* _________________ Grand Duchess Molly Kaldhel
