A messenger runs down the street exhausted and barely able to stay on his feet. He yells for help repeatedly holding a rolled parchment out in front of him. His legs give out and he falls to the ground, parchment rolling out of his hand onto the cobblestone. The message reads...

Republic of Magincia,

We are refugees that settled in Vesper after the fall of the homeland. We have lived well here until recently when our way of life has been progressively smothered by the ones who come in the night. They have invaded our homes and lives leaving only death in their wake. They take our children and threaten to take their lives if we do not answer their questions. Our homes have been torn to pieces then set of fire. It appears they are looking for something and will stop at nothing to find it. They keep saying "Where is it!", Stop hiding the Ships cargo!" Many have died and I fear if they don't find what they are looking for they will kill us all. Please send help, there is little time. They have taken a Captains wife now and if she dies I fear the rest of the refugees will have no hope left. The Captain chooses to drink away his sorrow and refuses to go after her or give into their demands. He keeps ranting about having to protect something and how he never should of told her. Please save her! Save all of us!
