The Britannian Embertide
The Britannian Embertide is a newly conceived holiday, to celebrate the virtues and ideals our Philosopher-King, Lord British holds so dear. It’s exact purpose to show charity, friendship and kindness to any and all, and promote peace and prosperity in greater Sosaria.
Firstly, we plant a Yewish sapling, to show our growing devotion to our King, and great protector that transcends the years of his absence, and only grows deeper in time.
Secondly, we invite all men and women of any race, age, belief or social station to a banquet and a brief prayer while we light a large flame, to act as a beacon calling to our King, to signify the burning love each of his subjects hold for him and to lead him one day home to his rightful throne.
Thirdly, the armies, Lords and Ladies of the Protectorate will remove their armor and weapons, and process in hooded monk’s robes to erase if only for a time all visages of war or status as they pass food and coin from their own households and purses to those in the street, in a silent and prayerful procession to the Castle Britannia.
The Governor-Regent cordially asks that in a spirit of peace and prosperity no weapons be drawn or displayed in any fashion at any time during the duration of the Embertide Celebration. |
