The event went rather quick but there were some very interesting aspects of it that really make it stick out in my mind.

Firstly, the story writing leading up to it. Often times at the EM events I have attended prior to Bennu, the first 15 minutes of the event was sitting and wading through DEWD text to find out what exactly the mission was. That was not the case with this event (and Bennu's prior event). There were stories posted, plenty of notification, etc. What I am trying to say is that we all knew what we were doing before we showed up. So the pre-event speech was short and we got down to the killing.

Secondly, the items dropped on the bosses all had to be turned in to the EM to continue the quest. So rushing to kill the boss wasn't the biggest priority. That is also because...

thirdly, the event item drops weren't on monsters. They were laying on the ground. That is awesome in my opinion. Some found their items by searching areas that were FAR away from where the actual objective bosses were. Seeing alternate distribution methods for EM items is a good thing in my mind.

And lastly, while the event itself was over rather quickly (30-45 minutes, if that), EM Bennu stayed at the EM hall for almost an hour afterward talking with players and answering their questions.

All in all, I was pretty impressed. Oh. I forgot, there were 3 simultaneous objectives so the HUGE group of people that would have caused paralyzing lag was split 3 ways, and lag wasn't really an issue

It had happened always when one of her own were in trouble, but more so since she had broken her slumber and returned to the world of flesh and blood. From the mist that held her shifting form, Emily drifted and dipped. Something pulled and tugged on her. Something familiar, something tangible and something rough.

Korin.

It was a thought and a statment all at once.

What have you done?

With a deep intake she peered through the void onto her boy as she had so many times previously. Silently she watched as he berated himself yet again. And silently she knew he needed a good swift kick in the butt. That thought was all it took to make one succinct well heard phrase pass between the worlds.

Remember who the hell you are, my boy.

Korin sat bolt upright, sending a shower of snow across the room.
"Grandmother?" He said in a puzzled voice, as his eyes scanned the darkness of his room.

Her voice had sounded, or so he thought as if she was standing beside his bed. But there was no one in the room. The joy he had felt at the sound of her voice quickly turned, Sour.

"Remember who you are!" Her words sounded again in his mind. Korin lay back down and closed his eyes those words running over and over in his head.

Finally He said aloud "I am Korin d'Rue. Son of Merci d'Rue." after a brief pause. "I am a Guardian of Stonegate." He paused again his mind still racing.

Korin sat up again, Folded his arms across his chest. This time the words came out with force and "I am Korin d'Rue, Son of Merci d'Rue."

Again Korin Started, "I am Korin." He stopped and looked around his room then looked up at the ceiling "This is not what you ment is it grandmother?" He hung his head and closed his eyes. A few moments later Korin lay back down on his bed of ice, waving his hand and pulling a blanket of snow over him once more. Korin turned onto his side and snuggled in drifting off to sleep with thoughts of his past dancing threw his head.

Being non-corporeal had it's advantages. For one thing she typically didn't have to worry about crossing her ankles, as good form dictated. And she didn't have to worry about looking her best. Unless she really wanted them to, no one was going to see her anyway. Merci's Boy, Her Boy. Curled under the ice cold blanket he actually seemed at peace himself. Well neither of them was going to get it tonight.

"KORIN." It was stern and it was vocal. Unlike the last few words, she had waited until he was good and asleep before belting it out with force.

Emily watched from her vantage point at the edge of the bed as Korin sat up and promptly smacked his head on an unknown object in the dark.

"Grandmother?" Barely a whisper, his tone was much softer than hers had been.

"Who else would be in your bedroom at this time of morning?" She took a pause and added for effect, "Definitely not a woman. You've done chased them all away."

A scowl spread slowly and she guessed if he could physically reach out and strangle her the thought would cross his mind.

"Don't take that tone of face with me boy."

"Grandmother, you don't understand."

"What don't I understand? That you continually underestimate yourself? That you underestimate those who care about you? Or that you are blind, stubborn and a pain in my non-corporeal rear?"

Korin stammered and sputtered. It had been some time since this woman, this ghost, had laid her claws in.

"Yes. I have watched. And while I am never ashamed I -am- sorely disappointed." Clear and cutting those were meant to slice through his bones deeper than any tongue lashing could.

"You do not have nine-lives boy. Quit wasting them and get yourself moving. There are people out there who love you. And you are doing them a disservice."

Calmy she regarded her Grandson and waited for the many of excuses that were to follow.

The knot on Korins forhead throbbed, he sat on his bed one hand rubbing his forehead and his eyes cut at Emily d'Rue.
She stood or floated there beside the bed Korin wasn't sure of which. Korin's delight at seeing his grand mother again, quickly disappeard. Emily's words cut straight to bone. Her tongue was like a saber wielded by and exspert. Each word a slash or cut as they came out of her mouth. Korin felt as if he was being picked apart a little at a time. Emily did not use many words but, she did not need many to get her point across. Korin tried to come up with excuses for his behavior over the last few months. He knew that everyone of those hundreds of reasons that ran through his mind to exsplain his actions would not cut it. As korin openned his mouth to spit one out he quickly would close it see how his grandmother would cut it up and unleash another torrent at him.

Korin openned his mouth and the word "She" came out, but he quickly knew that trying to blame some one else was not going to work either.

Emily just stood there, Calm and patient.

Korin looked up at Emily, His face said it all even before he spoke.
"Grandmother, which way?" His eyes locked on her's "How do I move on with my life, when I do not know which way to go?" Korin held her gaze for a brief moment, before lowering his eyes to the floor. Taking his head in his hands he sat looking down. "Grandmother," he mumbled "I am so lost."

Stones in sunlight dance in silent vigil.

Nestled amidst tall grasses and scrub brush, rooted in disarray at the feet of sleeping mountains far removed from the face of the everyday.

Creeping life luminous, spilling down its craggy sides molten and fiery.

Once grey rock burnished in reds, dappled in shadows.

Christopher ran breathlessly through a wild sea of white blossoms that near swallowed his four year old frame whole. The morning glittering upon the flowers so as to create a scene that seemed impossible; that could exist only in the mind, and visions of poets or painters. Like the silver lamps of starlight gathered upon the earth by invisible hands, and set upon slender staves and swaying.

Arahim smiled to see his only child so hale and happy. He thought nothing of his sudden shift of scenery, and took the greatest delight in the simplest of things.

And though here, nestled within a ring of titan stone scratching the very crown of cloud and sky, was some tiny portion of secret heaven, Arahim chafed still at the notion of what brought him here. Of fleeing his home, and those he had gathered to him in love. Of costing Christopher a stability he so needed.

Summer begins its final stages, burning embers into Autumn.

To live, certain things now must die, and home beckons.

The Merchant Emporium :: 18 x 18 in great spot for trade :: Posted by Dealthagar

I'm looking to move. I have a wonderful 18x18 in a great spot:

Simply put, I'd like to move out of the area for personal and RP reasons. On the other hand, i don't want to put this place in the hands of a non-RPer.

So, I'm looking to trade. Northern Malas, Tokuno, Trammel. Do I have a preferecne? Yes, L18 on the Malas map, T10-18, or B12 or B15, anywhere in Tokuno (if only i had the 10K rep, I'd die for Ter-Mur) I'd be willing to downgrade in size a bit for those spots.

Anywhere else, straight up, or really close to size is preferred, but if you have a spot as nice we can talk.
